

Amy Smith
Amy Smith serves as the school counselor at Tharptown Elementary School, where she supports students in their academic, career, and social-emotional development. She holds a Master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of North Alabama and an Educational Specialist degree in Counselor Education from the University of Mississippi. Mrs. Smith provides classroom guidance lessons focused on character education, social-emotional learning, and bullying prevention. She also offers short-term individual counseling and leads small group sessions to support students with shared concerns such as social skills, coping strategies, and emotional regulation. Students may be referred by parents, teachers, administrators, or may request to meet with her directly. In addition to counseling services, Mrs. Smith coordinates school programs such as Red Ribbon Week, the Ambassadors program, and Character Counts initiatives, as well as assisting with state testing and student records. She strives to be a trusted and approachable resource, ensuring every student feels supported and empowered to succeed.
