Heath Boyd

Coach Heath Boyd serves as a Physical Education teacher at Tharptown Elementary School. In his role, he works with students to promote healthy habits, physical fitness, and the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. Through a variety of engaging activities and games, he helps students develop coordination, confidence, and an appreciation for staying active. At Tharptown Elementary, Coach Boyd is dedicated to creating a positive and encouraging environment where all students feel supported and motivated to participate. He enjoys helping students build lifelong habits of health and wellness while also reinforcing important values such as perseverance, respect, and cooperation.

Joseph Brown

Coach Joseph Brown teaches Physical Education for grades Pre-K through 6th at Tharptown Elementary School and has been part of the TES community since 2017. He began his teaching career in 2015 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Education as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching. Coach Brown attended Northwest Shoals Community College, the University of North Alabama, and the University of West Alabama. In addition to his teaching credentials, he also holds a CDL. Before coming to Tharptown, Coach Brown was recognized as a three-time PE Award winner while teaching at East Franklin Junior High School. Coach Brown brings extensive experience in athletics and coaching to his role as a PE teacher. With ten years of coaching experience - primarily in basketball and cross country - he enjoys helping students stay active while developing teamwork, discipline, and confidence. Coach Brown is passionate about encouraging students to build healthy habits and enjoy physical activity. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Katie, have been married for a little over three years and are excited to welcome their first child in July.

Alexandrea Donaldson

Coach Alexandrea Donaldson teaches Physical Education at Tharptown Elementary School and has been part of the TES community since 2022. She began her teaching career the same year and holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Alabama. As the PE teacher, Coach Donaldson works with students across grade levels to promote healthy habits, teamwork, and the importance of staying active. Coach Donaldson chose a career in education because of her love for working with children and helping them grow. She enjoys creating a positive and energetic environment where students can develop both physically and socially. One of her favorite things about Tharptown Elementary is the strong relationships she has built with her colleagues and the wonderful students she works with each day.
