Charla Lucas serves as a Pre-K teacher at Tharptown Elementary School, where she works with some of the school’s youngest learners. In her classroom, she focuses on building strong early foundations in learning through hands-on activities, play-based instruction, and meaningful interactions that support children’s social, emotional, and academic development. At Tharptown Elementary, Charla is dedicated to creating a nurturing and welcoming environment where young students feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. She works to help children develop important early skills such as communication, cooperation, and problem-solving while encouraging curiosity and a love of learning that will support their success throughout their school years.

Brianna Wood teaches Pre-K at Tharptown Elementary School and joined the TES family in 2025. She began her teaching career in 2024 after earning her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (P–3) from the University of North Alabama. Brianna is also LETRS certified, which supports her work in building strong early literacy foundations for young learners. Before coming to Tharptown, she spent six years working as a preschool teacher and also taught one year of 3rd grade, giving her valuable experience working with young children across multiple age levels. Brianna was inspired to pursue a career in education by her grandmother, who served as an educator in Franklin County Schools throughout her childhood. Spending time in her grandmother’s classroom left a lasting impression and helped shape her love for working with students. She appreciates the welcoming and supportive environment at Tharptown Elementary and enjoys being part of such a caring school community. Brianna will also be working alongside Mrs. Royce as an auxiliary sponsor for the Tharptown High School marching band color guard and majorettes in the upcoming school year. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her pets - two dogs named Dixie and Clover and a cat named Bell Pepper.
