Meet Our School Counselor

Hello, my name is Amy Smith, and I am dedicated to supporting students in their academic, career, and social-emotional development. I have a Master's Degree in School Counseling from the University of North Alabama and an Education SpeciaIist Degree in Counselor Education from the University of Mississippi. I strive to be a trusted and approachable resource for all students, providing a safe space where they feel supported and understood.

Please feel free to use the resources on this page at home, or contact me if your child needs any additional support.

Services Offered:

Classroom Guidance
I deliver lessons in classrooms throughout the year, focusing on character education, social-emotional skills and bullying.

Individual Counseling
I offer short term, individual counseling to help students better understand themselves and navigate challenges they may face. If you are interested in long term counseling, please refer to the resources on this page or contact me for a referral.

Small Group Counseling
I lead small groups for students who share similar concerns, such as coping with family changes, building social skills, managing grief, developing self-control, or handling anger effectively.

How Students Can Access Counseling Services:

  • Parents can request counseling services by email or phone.

  • Students can inform their teacher if they would like to meet with me.

  • Teachers and Administrators may also refer students for counseling as needed.

Additional Roles and Activities:

In addition to individual and group counseling, I organize and participate in various school events and programs, such as Red Ribbon Week, the Ambassadors program, “Character Counts!” initiatives, and state-wide testing coordination. I also process enrollment and withdrawal paperwork, permanent records, and PowerSchool parent portal.

I am here to ensure every student feels supported and empowered to succeed. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions or need assistance!
